“Muddy’s Bake Shop in East Memphis is a little DIY-feeling cupcake joint with lots of Etsy-like charm and board games, so you can play Apples to Apples while you munch cupcakes and drink coffee. “My friend and I stopped at Muddy’s on our way home to Boston during our cross country trip from California. We wanted to stop for the best cupcakes and you guys didn’t let us down!!!!!! Not only were the cupcakes amazing, but all of you were amazing as well and even sent us off with some cookies. “I would LIVE here if I could. Just walking in and experiencing the glorious vanilla-y chocolatey bakey delicious smell that hits you at the door is worth the trip! Not only have I not had anything there that wasn’t AMAZING, they have bottle coke, bottle orange crush, AND board games. The toffee bars are to die for as are the prozac cupcakes and the pucker ups! “I’m addicted to Muddy’s! I stop by a couple of times each week to get my fix… but it’s worse than a simple addiction! Instead of being addicted to just one thing, this addict is faced with too many choices every time he darkens the Muddy’s door. Do I satisfy my craving with a Plain Jane, closing my eyes in bliss as I swallow? Do I choose a Grasshopper and moan with pleasure as my taste buds meld the creamy mint icing with the moist chocolate cake? Or do I go with a Prozac and forget the world exists for a few wonderful moments? Goosebumps the size of quail eggs are erupting all over my body. The banana one- OMG- words cannot begin to describe such joy! What’s an addict to do? Is there a rehab to treat such addiction?” -Lyle I
