Howdy cake-eaters!

Well, we obviously didn’t start baking at our usual 4am today… however, a bunch of the gang has volunteered to come in to bake and man the shop this afternoon!
We’re going to start baking, ehrm, right now and then open the shop from 1-4pm leaving enough time for our posse to get home before dark.
It’s a win-win; we get to bake and hang out with y’all and each other while our husbands/mothers/children aren’t chewing their fingernails to shreds worrying that we might be driving on ice in the dark. 

The recap: we’re open today from 1-4pm.  woot.

Ok y’all, the streets are starting to get icy and our moms, husbands, and children would really like us home safe by dark so we’re not driving on the icing streets in the dark, natch.

Thus, we are closing up at 4:30 today!  We’ll keep y’all posted about tomorrow!

Ok, for all interested, here is the Muddy’s Severe Weather Plan:

If the roads are dangerous for people to drive on, we will be closed.  Keep in mind that our first baking shift starts at 4am, so it is also possible that we will simply open late or half stocked.

For example, if the roads are iced over at 4am and my first crew can’t get here, but the roads thaw enough to be safe by 9am, then we will come in and start baking at 9am. Our first priority will be to bake the pre-orders, and then we’ll just bake as much as we can for the case.

If however, the streets remain iced and dangerous, we obviously must put the safety of our staff first and we will be closed.

Whether we open late or we’re closed altogether, I’ll definitely post our decision on this blog for y’all, so check here!

Wow y’all, we have TWO positions opening up.  One of our awesome bakers landed her dream job (yay for her, sad for us) and one of our new hires who was going to start this week dropped out for health reasons (so prayers for her!).
