fat talk

Ok, I’m a little late on this as I meant to post it last week (during the actual “end fat-talk week”) but it’s relevant any time, any place…

This campaign is near and dear to my heart not only as a Tri-Delta alumna (yay Tri-Delta for spearheading this campaign!) but also as a woman with an undeniably skewed body-image.  I had an eating disorder in college and was definitely way thinner than I should’ve been, yet when I looked in the mirror I saw fat fat fat.  I like to think this is behind me, but even now I’ll catch myself critiquing every ounce and fretting that my thighs aren’t what they used to be while Thomas groans and says “you CAN’T be serious!”
And I know I’m not the only one… women young and old, heavy and thin, rich and poor all have to deal with this issue in themselves, their friends, and their families.

Check out the video and remember to cut back on the fat-talk!  :)
