Huzzah! This past Saturday marked the first day of the Memphis Farmers’ Market

this season. Held at the Central Station downtown, loads of vendors and shoppers and of course, farmers, milled around and chatted and bought and sold. It was marvelous!
I had worked awfully late the night before, so I set out a little b
it later than I’d intended and ended up missing most of the produce (I got there about 9:45am); this early in the season, we haven’t really reached peak abundance.
I did purchase another MFM apron for the bakery as well as some coffee from McCarter’s (located in Millington), a cd from the talented gal performing, Valerie June, and a Cherokee Purple heirloom tomato plant from Keith and Jill at Whitton Farms. I also saw about thirty people I knew and got to say hello and catch up. Overall, a pretty awesome Saturday morning!
