January roundup!

Oh sheesh... my lovely friend Shannon wrote us several lovely blog posts and I, in my frazzled overbooked bonkers-dom, completely forgot to actually publish them... so, that was my bad.  Here's the January round up!

Introducing The Cardigan Latte
Brrrr! This chilly January weather has us wanting to hunker down in cozy, warm clothes under a heated blanket! Our January Drink of the Month at Muddy’s Midtown will warm you up just like your favorite sweater! Snuggle up to The Cardigan Latte, made with espresso, steamed milk, cardamom vanilla syrup, honey, and a dash of cinnamon. This toasty sipper is available all January long to warm your hearts and bellies! Cheers!

Featured Nonprofit: Room in the Inn
We are so excited to have Room in the Inn as the non-profit recipient of our first Positive Change Jar in 2018! Room in the Inn has provided emergency shelter and meals to the homeless in Memphis during the coldest months of the year for eight years. Each year, for the months of November through March, Room in the Inn provides warmth, hospitality, meals, and a good helping of kindness and respect to over 200 Memphians. They are busy working every day during this frigid January cold snap, with very little staff and a lot of amazing volunteers.
At Muddy’s, we don’t accept tips for our service or charge for drip coffee refills; we believe in thriveable wages for great work and we fundraise for local nonprofits through our "Refill Our Community With Positive Change" jar. Each month our staff selects a Memphis non-profit organization, and 100% of those community funds go to support their mission.
This month will be donated to Room in the Inn. Learn more about them here.
You can participate by, of course, throwing some change in the jar, but also by nominating a nonprofit that's making a difference in our community! 

Introducing: German Chocolate Cake!
We are so excited to share with you that, due to popular demand, German Chocolate Cake is NOW HERE at Muddy’s! For the last decade, German Chocolate Cake has been our most requested, yet most unrealized, flavor. Now, as a gift to you (and us!) for our 10th birthday year, we’re bringing it to life.
We developed and tested countless versions of the recipe and poured loads of hours into getting it just right. Our vision was a cake that perfectly harmonizes rich dark chocolate with pecans and coconut, and our bakers have delivered! Pecan pieces are toasted to perfection to fully bring out their nutty flavor and our dark devils’ food chocolate cake layers delightfully balance the milkier chocolate of the buttercream icing. We’ve created an old-fashioned cooked coconut filling that is just the right amount of sweet without overpowering the delicate flavor. This filling is slathered between layers and top of the cake, and shot right into the middle of the cupcakes. We can’t wait for you to try it!  (available Jan-March)
