Monthly Treats + our Midtown Drink of the Month
As we have during the month of May, we'll continue serving fresh, fruity, triple-layer Blueberry Cake and compote-filled Cupcakes through the June blueberry season. Our fluffy vanilla cake features our usual assortment of everyday delicious ingredients like fresh eggs, the best vanilla we can find, and lots of real butter, but the addition of blueberry compote filling made from scratch in our kitchen by cooking down just the right amount of sugar with loads of fresh berries from local farmers makes this treat the shining star of our summer menu. We whip fresh berries into the cream cheese icing for an extra punch of blueberry goodness, too.
Our Rosette Cookies are also in the case this month! Our signature butter cookies are so flavorful on their own, but swirled with a rich rosette of buttercream, they’re downright decadent. Choose vanilla, lemon, or strawberry... or all three!
We're ushering in warm days with slices of fruit pie, too. Blueberry Crumble Pie and Strawberry Honey Pie will both be in the case throughout the month of June, and both feature fruit from local farmers. Check out this month's lookbook for a feature on one of our favorite farming families, the Gilbers. Pie is a breakfast food for sure.
Refilling our Community with Positive Change Jar Recipient: Community Legal Center
Back in 2008, Kat decided to fundraise for community organizations doing amazing work in our city instead of charging customers for drip coffee refills. Ten years later, "the jar" is still a customer favorite, and we're thrilled you all get so involved in the nomination process and give so generously.
This June, we're featuring the Community Legal Center! This non-profit legal organization provides free and low-cost services to lower income families. Whether it's representing asylum seekers, helping victims of elder abuse, or assisting families through the adoption process, the CLC aims to bridge the gap in access to justice. We're honored to be able to support them at our counter this month.
