I love having cashier shifts at work!
I really like the day each week when, instead of working the bakery case and serving customers there, I'm stationed at the cash register at Muddy's. Yes, part of the reason I enjoy my cashier shifts is because I'm not on my feet as much as when I work other stations in the bakery. But, really, I enjoy having a different vantage point than the one I get behind the bakery case, and the different type of interaction I get to have with my customers. I feel being perched at the cash register allows me to be a little more conversational with the people who come into the shop.
(I also occasionally get a chance to whip my camera out during lulls more easily when I'm the cashier. Hence today's photo. I promise I wasn't falling down on the job by taking this!)
